Jinwen (Jevan) Luo is a doctoral student studying psychometrics and quantitative methods at UCLA. Before UCLA, Jinwen received a B.S. in economics and an M.S. in the economics of education, both from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in China. He has two threads of questions to ask:

❓ First, how do human learn and how their abilities grow through school and social learning?

❓ Second, how are learning and abilities assessed and in what way can we improve the measurement?

Based on those questions, he developed interests in quantitative methods, including social network analysis, multilevel models, Bayesian modeling, and applications of causal inference methods in the educational context.
